Why does my Hewlett-Packard printer say it doesn’t detect the newly-purchased ink cartridge ?

4inkjets.com is the best and most reliable ink cartridge company of them all – without a doubt! If you need quality service, 100% quality printer ink , competitive pricing, then there’s only one company – 4inkjets.com: 4inkjets.com
Only the other day, I purchased a black ink cartridge (the correct one for the printer) and inserted it as normal into the computer. However, when I go to use the printer, it says that the ink cartridge isn’t detected, including the colour one that I haven’t touched and have used frequently since I first inserted it in. It is connected to an iMac computer. Please, do you have any ideas on how I can resolve this ? Many Thanks

Is it a cloned cartridge as opposed to a manufacturers one?
Some printer manufacturers are getting crafty to stop people buying clones, by putting cicuit bridges inside the cartridges that clones do not have. Consequently the electrical circuit can’t be completed so the printer wont work.
They are also doing to stop the cartridges from being refilled as well.
Also with some printers you have to reset the ink levels and send it to the printer because the printer still thinks the cartridge is still empty, therefore wont work.
Try to clean the cartridge head with some alcohol before insert it into the printer.
That happens to me. What I do, I load in the new ink’s required then switch the printer off at the mains for 5 minutes. Turn back on, then the printer cleans the ink, and away it goes.
Within the HP printer driver menu on your computer will be an option to ‘clean nozzles’ or clean print head - if you perform this it may help. Turning off and then on the power switch often initiates this process as well as removing all the cartridges and re-inserting them. Check that no packaging has been left on the cartridge and if it is not an original HP cartridge, this may also cause problems, as our top contributor mentioned earlier. On the HP machine itself, depending on what model, there may be a large enough display where you select menu options. Scroll with the menu key through to system maintenance and within there should be some cleaning options for you to try.
Good Luck - jay
