how much luck have you had with those inkjet ink cardridge refill kits that you do yourself? For Lexmark?

I have a Lexmark which uses the #16 basic black cartridge which costs 32 bucks . Someone told me that i can buy a big bottle of ink with a syringe needle on ebay for 10 dollars and it will refill those stupid cartridges like 50 times, saving you ,600 dollars!
Is this true? Can you just inject your own ink like that?

i had some problems at first figuring it out but the money you save makes it worth while by far

Don’t do it. Besides, lexmark uses a LOT of ink. Go buy a different printer that uses less ink. That way the ink will last longer.
i don’t recommend it i have an hp tried the refills and the quality is terrible i had it done at a place where they do only that refill cartriges. the black was kind of grayish and the colors were faded
cheap refill is bad
You can do it yourself, but beware, doing so voids your printers warranty. So if the ink cartridge explodes or otherwise messes up your printer, you’ll have no recourse with trying to get a replacement/repair under warranty.
i tried that once and it was messy, i think it worked tho. ink cartridges are way to expensive so why not try it. just make sure you put down a towel or something before doing that
yes. but you have to be careful not to over fill. also i haven’t been able to get my printer to accept cardridge after 3 refills,
don’t know why. if you over fill it will start to leak. careful getting the lid off also
Sometimes they work well enough, but they aren’t realistic.
Think about it like this: you’re making a hole in the cartridge to refill it with ink, right? Inside that cartridge is a sort of "sponge" that holds the ink. Now you’ve made a hole in the (previously air-tight) container, and this refill of ink will evaporate more quickly, even if you’ve taken the trouble to seal it up well.
What happens to a sponge, soaked with water, when you leave it exposed to heat and airflow? It dries out.
Inkjet cartridges are expensive, that’s the hidden cost of not going laser.
Laser printers = higher initial cost, lower upkeep cost
Inkjet printers = low initial cost, higher upkeep cost
Home filling is a mess and will cost you in the long run. Many Office Super Stores have on site filler centers that are much better. There is someone in your town who has the same machine. They deliver refilled carts to your door and take your old cart to refill and pass it along. Some will rechip proprietary carts and give you a guarantee. I no longer handle ink carts but I do refill toner carts (yes color) in my business model. Find someone in your town.
None. You would be better off in the long run buying a printer that does not use such expensive cartridges. Besides that, my 2 year old Lexmark was not compatible with Windows Vista program. I had to buy a new printer. There were no upgrades available.

They are so messy and time-consuming and leak EVERYWHERE.
I would only use them if you go through an unusually high amount of ink.
