Usually there is a bin at either the entrance or exit of stores like Staples or OfficeMax where you can recycle them.
Staples has a service you can sign up for called inkdrop. They mail you a pre-paid envelope, and you mail them the cartridges.
You can find out more at http://www.staples.com.
Any big office supply store can help you,
Check with your local library or other non-profit organization. They may have recycling for toner and ink cartridges. I am the director for a library. At this time, we only have recycling for smaller ink cartridges, but some libraries offer both. I’ve even seen ink recycling at post offices.
Many non-profit groups collect these cartridges and recycle them with a company that refills them and then resells them. The non-profits are given a small fee for turning in the cartridges. If you don’t want to find a non-profit to donate them to, you can simply go to the store directly and have your toner cartridge refilled.
go to a local church they might have a box to put them in. They recycle them alot.
I’m the recycling coordinator for my local gov’t. We currently use a Enviro Solutions to recycle ink/toner cartridges. They send you pre-paid packages and will also pay you for them! They are extremely easy to work with and very friendly.

Easy, you take them to a shop where they do ink jet cartridge recycling. you will find that most of these shops actually recycle laser toner cartridges as well as photocopy toners. I don’t know where you live but I live in Aberystwyth and am soon to open such a shop (SMART CARTRIDGE) where you will be able to do this, if you are not in Aberystwyth you can find Smart Cartridge or Cartridge World shops in many UK towns and in Europe and Australia, America ETC, hope this helps.
Holland Christian Schools collects them year-around as a fund-raiser. You can drop them off at any of their schools.
You can take the used cartridges to Office Max or Office Depot and get $3 off, per cartridge, anything you buy there. We do it all the time and it usually pays for all the paper we need.
Give the cartridge family a call and they recycle for free. Call and request a UPS label and they’ll have UPS go out there and pick up the empty cartridges. Any and all cartridges are accepted. Take care
